You know you're destined to be a fashion designer if you have any of this tendencies: One, you spent most of your childhood making clothes for your dolls instead of playing outside with your friends. Two, you read fashion magazines instead of your schoolbooks because you found them way more intriguing. Three, you tried selling your designs to your friends at the age of 14. You fit the direction of a person obsessed with fashion. You can ignore you true calling or you can go to school and make sure you are the next best thing in fashion.

In pursuance in a career in Fashion Design, networking is very important. Select a school that is known for its excellence not its name. There are a lot of school that cater to Fashion Designers but pick a school that you can benefit from and not overwhelm you and take away from your personal growth as a designer. While and after attending school make sure you intern and gain valuable experience it the field. Along with a degree experience goes a long way. Make sure you have a lot of it under your belt.

However, there are many aspects of the profession. Working as a fashion designer can just as well mean managing a design team at a swimwear company as producing a label under your own name. Creating your own label takes a lot of time and hard work. But you have to start somewhere.
